Laundromat Dramatic Corner

I transformed our dramatic corner into a Laundromat
where they can pretend to wash, iron, fold and even hang clothes.

Upon entering, I prepared a log book for them to write their names.
(This also helps me to know who plays in this area when "Keeping Time" is on. Haha)

This is our Laundry Area.
I recycled two big boxes to create a washing machine and dryer. I also took empty bottles of liquid detergent, fabric conditioner, cereal/chips boxes which I covered with coloured paper and printed detergent logos such as Ariel and Tide.

Since I don't have any ironing board in class, I made one by cutting boxes (3 layers) and sewed an old cloth to cover it.
Ta-dah! Ironing station!

Children will also have a chance to learn how to fold their own clothes in our Folding Station.

Last but not the least, we have our clothesline area where children can also develop their fine motor skills with a simple pincer grasp activity using clothespins.
